New Duty Free PH outlet to open at Hilton Clark

Duty Free Philippines (DFP) inked partnership with Donggwang Clark Corp. (DCC). The Philippine subsidiary of the Sun Valley Group of South Korea, to open a Duty Free outlet at the Hilton Sun Valley Resort inside Clark Freeport Zone.

DFP Chief Operating Officer (COO) Vicente Pelagio A. Angala and DCC President Shin Kun Lee acted as signatories to the lease contract, which was signed at Clark Sun Valley Golf & Country Club in Pampanga recently.

Opening in 2020

The agreement includes the construction of a 370-square meter outlet operated by DFP. Design and construction will be led by DCC.

The outlet is expected to open its door in the first quarter of 2020. It will be the second DFP store in Pampanga in addition to its outlet at the Clark International Airport.

 

“This partnership is part of our ongoing efforts to accelerate DFP’s presence in major tourism and economic destinations to tap the increasing number of foreign tourists and expatriates in the country,” said Angala.

“We strategically chose the location at an integrated tourism estate that includes condo units and commercial spaces,” said Angala.

The said outlet will highlight Filipino export-quality products through “Go Lokal!” kiosk. Also available regular tax-exempt items such as perfumes and cosmetics, health and beauty, fashion, confectioneries, liquor, and tobacco.

Angala revealed that they would work on partnerships with the organizers of international events hosted in Clark.

Meanwhile, DCC has committed to supporting the business operations of DFP.  They will help through advertising and marketing efforts and gift cert as giveaways to their hotel and casino guests

The Clark Freeport Zone is becoming the next economic haven of Luzon with unprecedented gains in investments, revenues, employment, and other significant achievements.

Clark Development Corporation (CDC) latest number of locator-firms totaled 949. Most of them in the information communication technology (ICT), service and developers’ industries. This resulted to the creation 108,000 jobs.

Passenger traffic at the Clark International Airport in 2018 hit the 2.5 million mark.

At present, the Clark International Airport sustains 390 domestic and 184 international flights weekly.
