Reimagine the future with Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow

Are you a STEM student with great interest to improve lives with technology? This is your chance to propose real life tech solutions as Samsung invites public science high school students grades 8-10 to showcase the best innovative ideas with the Solve For Tomorrow Competition.*

Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow is a global program that aims to empower young innovators with opportunities to come up with ideas to solve societal challenges and be the drivers of positive change in their local communities.

Since its global launch in 2010, Solve for Tomorrow aims to provide opportunities for top students to transform emerging ideas into actions and unlock their full potential as future leaders for a better future. Solve for Tomorrow has successfully helped over 2 million people and has reached beyond the boundaries of 50 other countries, including the Philippines, as the latest addition this 2023. 

Creating a better world is what makes innovations meaningful

Launched with the support of the Department of Education (DepEd) and Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Solve for Tomorrow is part of Samsung’s CSR vision of Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People. Its mission is simple: to empower and support the next generation to achieve their full potential and pioneer positive social changes. In order to approach problems in new ways and to find solutions, the next generations will have to be more creative and this is why Samsung focuses on education. 

Solve for Tomorrow is open to Grades 8-10 students of government-managed Science High Schools. They should form a team of maximum four students each, and choose one faculty adviser from their respective schools. 

Teams formed should identify a local community / environmental sustainability problem they want to solve with technology and come up with a design proposal presented via a slides presentation (5 slides max) or word document (2,500 words max). Once entry is finalized, submission is via the Solve for Tomorrow PH website. Deadline of entries is on 03 November 2023.

Entries will be evaluated based on design innovation, relevance to the community, feasibility, STEM integration, sustainability and clarity of proposal.

The top 10 entries will then be selected. Finalists will be announced on November 10, 2023, with the top 10 teams to receive expert mentoring to improve their solutions and the chance to present their final proposals to the distinguished board of judges on November 24, 2023.The top three teams will be awarded first, second, and third prize respectively. 

The Grand Prize winner will receive Php 650,00 worth of tablets and a TV for the school, Php 100,000 for the team members, Php 20,000 for the teacher, and Samsung phones and tablets for team members and their teacher. 

Meanwhile, the Second Prize winner will take home Php 350,000 worth of Samsung devices for the school, Php 75,000 for team members, Php 15,000 for the teacher, and Samsung phones and tablets for team members and their teacher. 

Finally, the Third Prize winner will receive Php 150,000 worth of Samsung devices for the school, Php 50,000 for team members, Php 8,000 for the teacher, and Samsung phones and tablets for team members and their teacher.

The rest of the top 10 will receive Php 15,000 for their team and Php 5,000 for their teacher.
