SM TURNS MALLS INTO INDOOR SPORTS HUBS WITH SM ACTIVE HUB ROLLOUT IN VALENZUELA, SANGANDAAN
With soaring temperatures driving more Filipinos indoors, SM Supermalls has begun transforming mall spaces into multi-sport venues through its “SM Active Hub” program, rolling out simultaneous sports activities in SM City Valenzuela and SM Center Sangandaan over the weekend.
The initiative reconfigures mall atriums into indoor sports courts and training spaces for basketball, badminton, taekwondo, pickleball, and other youth sports, offering a cooler alternative for community fitness activities during peak heat conditions.

At SM City Valenzuela, the two-day roll-out turned the mall atrium into a multi-sport venue with taekwondo demonstrations, basketball clinics, and badminton matches. Local sports groups and youth participants took part in coaching sessions and exhibition games held throughout the day.
Just a few kilometers away, SM Center Sangandaan hosted its set of activities, including taekwondo demonstrations and badminton matches. The turnout reflected strong community interest, with nearby residents dropping by to watch, participate, and support local athletes.

The rollout extended to SM City Grand Central, where children’s push bike races, pickleball sessions, badminton tournaments, and training clinics were conducted, reinforcing a wider network of community sports activation across northern Metro Manila.
SM Active Hub will continue beyond the launch weekend with a sustained lineup of fitness programs, including dance workouts, basketball and badminton clinics, pickleball sessions, and taekwondo training led by certified coaches and partner sports groups.
Now in its anniversary year, SM Active Hub is strengthening its footprint as a community-building initiative that blends retail spaces with health and wellness. The simultaneous launches in SM City Valenzuela and SM Center Sangandaan signal the start of a broader push to establish malls not just as shopping destinations but as year-round sports hubs across Metro Manila, catering to beginners and to seasoned athletes alike.
