Enhanced Smart network drives Oriental Mindoro switch

PLDT‘s wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is keeping Filipinos in touch despite the challenges of the pandemic through a wide array of compelling data offers coupled with an improved network experience, including in Oriental Mindoro.

As of the third quarter of 2021, Smart has also fired up 5G base stations in more than 85% of Oriental Mindoro’s towns, including its capital Calapan City, tourist area Puerto Galera, and the towns of Naujan, Pinamalayan, Victoria, Roxas, Bansud, San Teodoro, Bongabong, Gloria, Socorro, Bulalacao and Mansalay.

Smart LTE is also available across Oriental Mindoro, enabling high-speed mobile data service for customers with LTE handsets.

Among those benefiting from this enhanced network is 26-year-old Ryan Adeva of Calapan City.

With Mobile Number Portability, interested subscribers like Adeva can now move to Smart while retaining their existing mobile numbers.

To switch to Smart, users must first secure a Unique Subscriber Code from their originating provider to serve as clearance, and present this, along with a valid ID and any proof of mobile ownership, at the nearest Smart Store so that Smart can process their application for free.
