Pasig City partners with UnionBank, UBX to make business loans more accessible to more MSMEs
The Pasig City local government has partnered with Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank) and its fintech spinoff UBX for an initiative that will support the city’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing them with easy access to funding, which will help them stay afloat amid a global health crisis that has slowed down MSME activity in the country.
UnionBank, in partnership with Pasig Tapat and through the services of employee benefits platform Bridge Access and embeddable lending platform UBX SeekCap, will transform the way it serves and supports MSMEs by extending financial assistance and generate more business and employment of Pasig City’s MSMEs and entrepreneurs.
Open to qualified Pasig MSMEs who are registered in the Pasig TAPAT Loan Program, the initiative aims to not only make business loans easier and more accessible to entrepreneurs, but also make loan disbursements more efficient through the use of UnionBank’s industry-leading digital banking capabilities.
Because the whole process takes place within the platform, borrowers enjoy convenient and straight-through loan applications completely online, with approval within minutes. This is made even simpler as the Bank will only need minimal submission of requirements for the said offer.
“Supporting Filipino entrepreneurs has always been one of the key advocacies of UnionBank in line with our goal to ‘Tech Up, Pilipinas’ to enable inclusive prosperity in the country. This partnership with the City of Pasig is just one of the many ways we are helping countless MSMEs survive the pandemic as we slowly work our way collectively toward the country’s full economic recovery,” said UnionBank SME Head Jujut Enriquez.
“It is our mission to provide opportunity and access to financial services for all. This partnership allows MSMEs within Pasig City to easily apply and get loan approval in just a matter of minutes via the fully-digital experience of SeekCap,” said UBX President and CEO John Januszczak.
