The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and SM Supermalls entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 14 June 2021 at 1030am at SM Aura, BGC, Taguig City.  Representing PSA are National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, Undersecretary CLAIRE DENNIS S. MAPA, Ph.D and Assistant Secretary ROSALINDA P. BAUTISTA of the Philsys Registry Office.  SM Supermalls was represented by its President, STEVEN T. TAN and Senior Vice-President, BIEN C. MATEO.

The MOU formally sealed the nationwide participation of SM Supermalls to make the PhilSys registration services accessible to the mall-going public.  Through the joint initiative of SM and PSA, all citizens and foreign permanent residents can now easily register for the official national identity card.  The National ID card aims to simplify and boost efficiency by presenting only one (1) ID in both public and private transactions.

As  of today,  Philsys National ID registration has been rolled out in majority of SM’s Metro Manila malls since May 21 and at select North and Visayas malls totaling to about 28 malls. 27 more malls will start operations by between June 14-30, 2021.  Being a staunch supporter in safe community building, SM Supermalls aims to provide a convenient avenue for Filipinos to file for their ID. SM also continues to assure the public of a safe and secure environment in every visit made by its beloved shoppers.

The PSA has been a long-partner of SM since 2009 where the public can request for certified copy of birth/death certificates, marriage contracts and CENOMAR at the SM Business Center in every mall.

As part of the SM Group’s thrust to provide complete service to communities, SM Supermalls operates a Government Service Express (GSE) Center in selected malls nationwide which houses satellite offices of government agencies to make their services accessible to the public through SM’s network of malls nationwide.  For more information, follow @SMSupermalls on Facebook and Instagram ang log on to
