Tech-savvy Gen Z and Millennial travelers drive AirAsia Philippines’ promo success
AirAsia, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airlines for an uninterrupted 15 years and the pioneer in low-cost travel in Asean remains committed to keeping airfares the lowest in today’s market all-year round via its travel and lifestyle platform AirAsia MOVE.
Over the past three years, travelers have come to embrace and navigate the full potential of digital platforms. AirAsia MOVE app was able to market the airline’s monthly promos and reach millions world-wide. In the country alone, AirAsia Philippines recorded a total of 1.10 million seats booked under various promos such as PISO Sale and the monthly double digit sales from January to July 2024. Out of this figure, 340,000 were Gen Z’s and 480,000 were Millennials, while the remaining were Gen X and Boomers.
“Millennials and Gen Z’s are tech-savvy, while Gen X and Boomers are tech native. Technology always plays an important role in their decision making. 70% of online and over the App bookings for the first half of 2024 came from Millennials and Gen Z’s. To cope up with their travel needs, we need to stick to our working business model of low fare philosophy that focuses on streamlined, simple, and efficient business operation with high regards to passenger safety. We will continue to offer the most competitive and affordable airfare, fueling their excitement for travel with our monthly offerings”, AirAsia Head of Communications and Public Affairs and First Officer Steve Dailisan shares.
AirAsia Philippines is once again gearing up for another bang in the buck sale with LFG! Rain or shine, Let’s Fly & Go! offering more than 500,000 seats to all destinations. Available until 28 July, guests can book their domestic and international flights from as low as PHP177 one-way base fare for immediate travel until 30 December 2024.
Meanwhile, AirAsia Philippines noticed that ‘revenge travel’ has been recently crossed out of the bucket list. A new trend which is coined ‘journey travel’ focuses more on the guest’s travel experience from point A to point B. Rather than focusing on the end destinations such as a famous beach resort in Boracay or a luxurious hotel in Bangkok, travelers now also focus on creating memorable experiences and discoveries along the way.
“This is where AirAsia also comes to play. With an array of destinations, accommodations, activities, and other modes of transportation available on the AirAsia MOVE app our guests can create the best memories”, Dailisan added.
